The Crystal Storm is a Hardmode spell book that rapidly fires a slight spread of small crystal shards. The shards last for about three seconds each and slow down as they travel. They can bounce off blocks for their duration, and they do not pierce.

The Crystal Storm is the Hallow counterpart to the Corruption's Cursed Flames and the Crimson's Golden Shower, all of which require a Spell Tome and ingredients exclusive to their underground biome counterparts.

Its best modifier is Mythical.

Tips

The Crystal Storm may be preferable to the Magical Harp when piercing and repeat hits are not needed.
The Crystal Storm's fast fire rate but low base damage makes it pair well with the Ichor debuff.

Trivia

Unlike most ricocheting projectiles, these crystals make no sound when bouncing off objects.
Between versions 1.2.3 and 1.4.0.1, the Crystal Storm could not have any modifier that modified its mana cost by 10% or less, such as Celestial, Manic, or Mythical. A Crystal Storm that obtained such a modifier prior to 1.2.3 would have a new random modifier chosen automatically after the upgrade to 1.2.3, as that patch brought a reduction in mana cost that rendered those modifiers incompatible. The Crystal Storm's mana cost was raised to its original value in 1.4.0.1, allowing it to obtain those modifiers again.
The initial spin of the shards projectiles is determined by the angle at which they are fired. When fired horizontally in either direction, the projectiles spin very rapidly. Conversely, firing vertically will yield little to no spin.
