The Flower Pow attacking Target Dummies and a Mimic.

The Flower Pow is a Hardmode flail that has a 1/7 (14.29%) chance of being dropped by Plantera. When thrown, it rapidly fires pink flower petals at nearby enemies, which deal 33.33% of the weapon's damage (43 base damage) and inflict 50% of its knockback (base knockback of 3.25 (Weak)).[1]

Its best modifier is Godly or Demonic. Both modifiers increase the average damage output by the same amount. However, Ruthless might be preferred if the player already has very high critical strike chance.

Notes

  • The Flower Pow is launched with the velocity of 113 mph and can travel for 0.23 seconds before quickly losing speed and turning around to return towards the player. This results in it having a maximum range of approximately 20.12 tiles.[1]
    • Melee speed bonuses will increase the flail's velocity and its range.
    • If the player is moving, their velocity will be added to the flail's velocity, meaning it always moves at the same relative speed to the player.
  • The Flower Pow applies 12 ticks[2] of Local invincibility frames while spinning around the player, and 10 ticks of Local invincibility frames when thrown or dropped on the ground.[1]
  • The petals are fired toward the closest enemy within a 37.5-tile radius, and move at a speed of 72 mph.[1]
  • The petals are fired at a rate of once every 0.33 seconds.[1]
    • The fire rate is increased to once every 0.17 seconds while the flail's head is resting on a block.

Trivia

  • Its name is a play on "flower power", a peace slogan used during the late 1960s to early 1970s.
  • The petals it fires resemble the seeds Plantera fires in her first stage.
  • The Flower Pow is one of three flails that fire additional projectiles, the others being the Drippler Crippler and the Flairon.

  2. A tick is a time unit countable by the software. Most of Terraria's updating logic happens every tick. A tick has the length of 1/60th of a second, hence there are 60 ticks in a second and 3600 ticks in a minute.
