The Blowgun is a pre-Hardmode ranged weapon that can be purchased from the Witch Doctor for 5 GC. It is an indirect upgrade to the Blowpipe. When used, it fires Seeds and darts as ammunition. While a Blowgun is in a player's inventory, there is a chance that any vegetation growing on normal grass, in Clay Pots, and in Planter Boxes(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) will drop Seeds. Flowers typically drop 4 Seeds at a time, while tall grass typically drops 1–2 Seeds.

Its best modifier is Unreal.

Notes

  • The Seeds used by the Blowgun cannot be planted. Conversely, seeds that can be planted cannot be used as ammo for the Blowgun.

Trivia

  • The Witch Doctor uses the Blowgun to defend himself from nearby enemies.
