The Magnet Sphere attacking Mimics.

The Magnet Sphere is a Hardmode, post-Plantera spell book that has a 1/300 (0.33%) / 599/90,000 (0.6656%) chance of being dropped by Blue Armored Bones, Rusty Armored Bones, and Hell Armored Bones in the post-Plantera Dungeon. When used, it fires a slow-moving cyan sphere that rapidly fires instantaneous, non-piercing beams at the closest enemy as it travels. It passes through all enemies and bounces off solid blocks. The sphere dissipates after 15 seconds have passed, it has traveled 52 tiles, or when another sphere is fired.

Its best modifier is Ruthless. The Mythical modifier provides the widest array of stat bonuses, but the only stats that improve damage output are damage and critical chance. Switching to a different weapon causes existing projectiles to use that weapon's base critical chance instead, meaning that the Magnet Sphere's DPS is optimized with the Ruthless modifier when used in the intended way.

Notes

• The sphere is not slowed down in liquids.
• The sphere fires projectiles at a rate equal to a use time of 9 (Very fast).
• The sphere can move farther when it has a speed-reducing modifier.
• Like homing weapons, the Magnet Sphere's orb will not fire at other players in PvP.
• The Magnet Sphere's orb will fire at disguised Mimics.
