Boomerangs
Boomerangs are melee weapons that are thrown when used, returning to the player after a short amount of time. Most boomerangs cannot be fired again before returning to the player.
The best modifier for all boomerangs is generally Godly. (Old-gen console and 3DS versions) The two stackable boomerangs cannot receive any modifiers.
Types
There are 16 different types of boomerangs, 6 of which are Hardmode-exclusive.

Notes
- Melee speed bonuses will affect both the range and velocity of boomerangs.
- Boomerangs have infinite piercing ability when returning, and can return through blocks.
- Boomerangs can only have universal modifiers because they cannot have their speed modified.
- Boomerangs will disappear after a certain amount of time. This is only noticeable when teleporting (e.g. via the Rod of Discord).
Tips
- The player can aim just above the enemies so that it flies over their heads, then move away in the opposite direction, so that the boomerang will strike through all enemies while returning. This will also knock the enemies away from the player, despite the direction the boomerang is traveling at the time.
- As most boomerangs can only be thrown again after returning to the player, and that they usually have a high fire rate, firing them at a close distance takes the most advantage of them, albeit a bit risky.
