The Frostbrand being used to attack Target Dummies. Note the piercing projectile and debuff.

The Frostbrand is a Hardmode broadsword that has a 19/60 (31.67%) chance of being dropped by Ice Mimics. When swung, it fires a Frost Bolt projectile that pierces two enemies, cannot pass through blocks, and inflicts the Frostbite debuff for 4 seconds on hit.

Its best modifier is Legendary.

Notes

  • The Frost Bolt projectile has a cooldown of 0.5 seconds.
  • Melee speed affects the projectile's velocity, but not its fire rate.

Trivia

  • The Frostbrand's projectile shares a sprite with that of the Frost Staff.
  • The Frostbrand appears in the video game Dungeon Defenders 2 as part of a crossover.
  • It can be considered an upgrade to the Ice Blade.
