The Celebration being used with Rocket I.

The Celebration is a Hardmode, post-Golem launcher that fires two firework rocket projectiles at once (but only consumes one unit of rocket) that travel for 0.75 seconds before exploding. The Celebration can be purchased from the Party Girl for 80 GC.

Its best modifier is Unreal.

Notes

  • The Celebration rockets apply 1 tick[1] of static invincibility frames upon hit.[2]
    • This means when an enemy is struck by a Celebration rocket, its resulting explosion will not damage that same enemy again.
  • The firework explosion deals damage within a 12×12-tile square area centered on the rocket projectile.[3]
  • The Celebration disables the unique functions of nearly all rockets; Rocket II and Rocket IV do not destroy tiles, liquid rockets do not place/remove liquids, and Cluster Rocket I / Cluster Rocket II do not fragment.
  • The player cannot be damaged by their own projectiles fired from this weapon.

Tips

  • The numerous glowing particles that are created by the Celebration's explosions travel through walls, which can make them useful for finding ores.
  • It is very effective at harvesting plants like Glowing Mushrooms and Life Fruits, as well as destroying thorny bushes and clearing out Spider Nests due to its large explosion radius.

Trivia

  • The Celebration's projectiles are identical to the ones created by Firework Rockets. Additionally, the weapon is internally referred to as FireworksLauncher.
  • The Celebration used to be dropped by the Moon Lord, but was replaced by the Celebration Mk2 due to it being significantly weaker than other post-Moon Lord weapons.

History

  • Desktop 1.4.0.1:
    • No longer drops from the Moon Lord, instead sold by the Party Girl once Golem has been defeated.
    • Damage decreased from 65 to 25.
    • Critical strike chance decreased from 14% to 4%.
    • Rarity decreased from Red (Rarity level: 10) to Yellow (Rarity level: 8).
    • Added new use sound.

  1. A tick is a time unit countable by the software. Most of Terraria's updating logic happens every tick. A tick has the length of 1/60th of a second, hence there are 60 ticks in a second and 3600 ticks in a minute.
