The Flymeal being used against the Guide.

The Flymeal is a pre-Hardmode broadsword with the unique ability to damage friendly NPCs. It also inflicts the Stinky debuff for 5 seconds, although this effect is purely cosmetic.

Its best modifier is Legendary.

Notes

  • Upon dealing damage, the Flymeal produces the fart sound effect that a Whoopie Cushion makes.
  • The Flymeal completely ignores town NPCs' defense, and deals double its damage (30 base damage) to the Nurse.[1] The latter is most likely to counter her self-healing ability.
  • Armor sets, accessories, and flasks that allow the player to inflict debuffs can also be used with the Flymeal to apply these to NPCs.
  • Unlike Rotten Eggs, the Flymeal cannot damage the Eternia Crystal.

Tips

  • The Flymeal should be solely crafted as a reliable means of damaging or killing town NPCs (unlike Rotten Eggs or lava it is not consumable and does not dislodge furniture) for a variety of purposes, such as:

Trivia

  • The Flymeal shares its tooltip "Best used for pranking townsfolk" with the Rotten Egg.
  • The tooltip "'Makes others smell like cilantro'" is a reference to real-life stink bugs, which produce a chemical that smells like cilantro when distressed, threatened, or crushed.
