The Blizzard Staff in action.

The Blizzard Staff is a Hardmode, post-Plantera wand that is dropped from the Ice Queen during the Frost Moon event with a 5.19%–10.37% (15.56%–31.11%) chance depending on the current wave.^[1] When used, it causes a wide spread of icicles to rain from the sky, directed towards the cursor. It summons four icicles per use, which do not pierce enemies or pass through blocks.

Its best modifier is Mythical.

Notes

• On the  Mobile version, opening the inventory moves the player's screen up several tiles. If the player taps the top-center of the screen to use the Blizzard Staff in this condition, the spawned icicles will fly in random directions, as the "cursor" location is surrounded by the spawn point of projectiles.
• The velocity of the projectiles is reduced when passing through liquids.
• Internally, the Blizzard Staff has a useTime of 5 and a useAnimation of 10. It also shoots 2 icicles at a time, causing it to fire 4 icicles per press of the ⚒ Use / Attack button.

Tips

• The Blizzard Staff can be considered an upgrade to the Meteor Staff, though the Blizzard Staff's projectiles do not pierce or explode. The Lunar Flare(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) can be considered a direct upgrade to the Blizzard Staff, as its projectiles travel through blocks, are more precise, and have a higher DPS.
