The Death Sickle attacking Target Dummies.

The Death Sickle is a Hardmode broadsword that has a 1/40 (2.5%) / 79/1600 (4.94%) chance of being dropped by Reapers during the Solar Eclipse event. When swung, it fires a spinning purple sickle that can pass through blocks. The sickles travel slowly for about 12 tiles before stopping in place, can pierce four enemies, or linger for three seconds before dissipating.

Its best modifier is Legendary.

Notes

• The Death Sickle projectile applies 10 ticks^[1] of static invincibility frames upon hit.^[2]
• The Death Sickle projectiles emit a small amount of light.
• The range of its projectiles is affected by melee speed bonuses.

Tips

• The Death Sickle is best at close-range and crowd control. It is especially useful against Plantera, as it can easily hit her large hitbox as well as take out her spores and tentacles during her second phase.
• It is useful in the Hardmode Dungeon due to its decent knockback and projectiles moving through blocks, being effective even against Paladins.

Trivia

• The Death Sickle can be considered an upgrade to the Ice Sickle.
• The weapon's design originates from classic depictions of the Grim Reaper, generally shown wielding a scythe.
• Despite its name, the Death Sickle more closely resembles a real-life scythe than a sickle. Moreover, the weapon cannot cut grass.
