The Scarecrow is a Hardmode, post-Plantera enemy that spawns during the Pumpkin Moon event. There are ten varieties of Scarecrow, five of which lack legs and can only move by jumping, while the other five follow the normal Fighter AI. Scarecrows have a 1/10 (10%) chance to inflict the Weak debuff for 1 minute / 2 minutes / 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
Defeating a Scarecrow during the Pumpkin Moon event will add 1 / 2 / 2.5 points to the final score.[2]
All Scarecrow varieties require 150 kills to be awarded completion of their Bestiary entry and corresponding banner, as opposed to the usual 50 kills.[3]
Variants
Notes
- Despite inflicting Weak on players, it does not drop Vitamins.
Trivia
- Two of the scarecrows appear to be wearing a Guy Fawkes Mask.
- These variants seem to be the ones pictured in its banner.
- The
Bestiary entry for the Scarecrow: "Possessed by vengeful spirits of the harvest, these scarecrows are out to cause mischief and mayhem galore."
History
- Desktop 1.4.4.9:
- Scarecrows Banner/Bestiary Unlock Count Requirement reduced from 200 to 150 to reflect lower numbers in Pumpkin Moons.
- All Scarecrow Bestiary Entries now share one kill count, rather than 10 independent kill counts, and will be unlocked simultaneously.
