The Purple Slime is a pre-Hardmode enemy and a slime variant that commonly spawns in Forest biomes during the daytime. It is a larger and stronger variant of the Blue Slime. Purple Slimes will not usually target the player but will become aggressive when damaged, during the night, or if brought underground.

Like most other slimes, the Purple Slime will be passive towards any player with the Royal Gel(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) accessory equipped.

On  Desktop,  Console,  Mobile, and 3DS, they can rarely be found carrying bonus drops, which the player receives upon the slime's death.

Notes

• Purple Slimes cannot spawn within 400 tiles horizontally of the world's spawn point. This restriction does not apply in Expert Mode(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions).
• During the Slime Rain(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions), Purple Slimes can fall from the sky anywhere, regardless of the biome or time of day.
• On Windy Days(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions), Purple Slimes can spawn attached to a Windy Balloon.
