The Corrupt Penguin is a pre-Hardmode enemy that results from a Penguin that has been corrupted, either by the player using Vile Powder on it or when a Penguin spawns during a Blood Moon in a Corruption world.

Notes

• On the Nintendo 3DS version, Penguins will still become Corrupt Penguins during a blood moon on a Crimson world.
• Although they spawn during the Blood Moon event, they cannot drop Bloody Tears.

Trivia

• Unlike the other sprites for corrupted critters, the Corrupt Penguin is bloody instead of purple.

• The Bestiary entry for the Corrupt Penguin: "During a Blood Moon, the normally docile penguins fall under the hostile influence of the Corruption."
