The Giant Cursed Skull is a Hardmode, post-Plantera enemy that spawns in the Dungeon after Plantera is defeated. It acts similarly to the Cursed Skull in flight pattern, except it is much larger and will occasionally shoot "Shadowflames", high-velocity white blasts that pass through tiles. On the Desktop version Desktop version, Console version Console version, and Mobile version Mobile version, it has a chance to inflict the Cursed debuff upon contact, while its projectiles always inflict the debuff, which lasts for 4 / 8 / 10 seconds.

Giant Cursed Skulls spawn most often in areas of the Dungeon backed by slab or tiled walls. They can also spawn in other areas, but with a significantly reduced chance.

Notes

  • The Giant Cursed Skull has a cooldown of 2 seconds between firing bolts.[1]
  • The Giant Cursed Skull will open its mouth prior to firing bolts, and its attack can be interrupted.
  • It will not usually cast bolts through walls until it has passed into open space or been damaged by the player (using weapons that can pass through walls, such as the Nettle Burst or Death Sickle). After being damaged or going into open space, it can fire bolts even if inside walls.

  • According to the entry, the Cursed Skull is the Giant Cursed Skull's smaller cousin.
