The Pirate Corsair is a Hardmode enemy that spawns commonly during the Pirate Invasion. It moves towards the player by running and jumping, similar to the Pirate Deckhand, but has slightly higher stats.

Trivia

• The Pirate Corsair's name and sprite suggests that it may be based on historical pirates from the Mediterranean, most notably the Barbary pirates.
• Despite visibly wielding the Cutlass, it does not have a higher chance to drop it.

• The Bestiary entry for the Pirate Corsair: "Once mercenaries from a distant land, Corsairs brandish deadly scimitars with unyielding skill and a cut-throat agenda."
