The Warmth Potion is a buff potion which grants the Warmth buff when consumed. The buff reduces damage from cold-themed enemies (see below) by 30%. This lasts for 15 minutes, but can be canceled at any time by right-clicking the icon (Desktop version), by selecting the icon using Cycle Next/Previous Buff and then pressing Remove Buff (Console version), or by double-tapping the buff icon (Mobile version).

Affected entities

While the Warmth buff is in effect, damage from the following enemies will be reduced:

The Warmth buff reduces both contact damage from these enemies and damage from their projectile attacks. The only exceptions are Deerclops' Shadow Hand projectiles and the Snowman Gangsta's Snowman Bullets – these are not affected by the Warmth buff. Note that the damage of Deerclops' Debris projectile is always reduced, even if it visually appears like dirt or stone on occasion.

Additionally, some of the player's projectiles reflected by a Selenian, an Expert Biome Mimic, the Dreadnautilus, or a Shimmer Slime will also inflict reduced damage while Warmth is active. This is applied after the original damage of the projectile is halved upon reflection. The projectiles of the following weapons are affected:

Notes

  • The Warmth buff does not affect the ice-themed weapons' damage in PvP.
  • Its damage reduction can be combined with similar effects from other items, such as the Endurance Potion. See Damage reduction for details.
  • The Warmth buff does not reduce the damage of the Frozen Zombie, despite it being a cold-themed enemy.

Tips

  • The Warmth Potion is highly advantageous during the Frost Legion and Frost Moon events, as many of their enemies are affected by the Warmth buff. Additionally, it will last the full duration of the Frost Moon.
  • The potion is helpful during the fight against Deerclops, even though it does not reduce the damage of its Shadow Hand projectiles.
