Using Chlorophyte Arrows to attack a Target Dummy and a Blue Slime. Note how the arrows will bounce unless there is a target in sight.

The Chlorophyte Arrow is a type of Hardmode arrow obtainable after all three mechanical bosses are defeated. Chlorophyte Arrows can ricochet off blocks four times, and will attempt to bounce in the direction of a nearby target if one is in range. Their damage is reduced by 33% after ricocheting.

Apart from the homing behavior, Chlorophyte Arrows ricochet in a different manner than other projectiles: They always return in the direction from which they hit the surface, making a 180° angle.

Tips

For tips on farming Chlorophyte Ore, see Guide:Farming resources § Chlorophyte.
  • Chlorophyte Arrows are quite useful in conjunction with wildly inaccurate multi-shot bows, such as the Daedalus Stormbow, which allow them to deal much more single-target damage than usual and allow them to hit smaller targets much more accurately, due to their homing abilities.
  • They work best against grounded enemies (or crowds of them) and slow flying enemies. They are not particularly effective against fast flying enemies, because the homing-upon-ricochet can commonly miss.

History

  • Desktop 1.4.0.1:
    • Sprite updated.
    • No longer pierces targets.
    • Projectile speed increased.
    • Bounces more times and can home in on nearby targets after bouncing.
    • Post-bounce arrows only deal 66% damage.
