Shadewood
Shadewood is the Crimson replacement for regular Wood. It works the same exact way as regular Wood but has a blue-gray tint. Shadewood can be acquired from trees that have been afflicted by the Crimson. Shadewood has better attributes than items crafted from regular Wood. For example: the Wooden Sword made with regular Wood does (Desktop, Console, Old-gen console and Mobile versions) 7 / (3DS version) 5 damage, while a Shadewood Sword does (Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) 11 / (Old-gen console and 3DS versions) 10 damage. Shadewood is the third best wood for crafting equipment (tools and weapons), but is the fourth best for the Wood armor variants, only being beaten by Ash Wood(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions), Pearlwood, and Spooky Wood, as it has higher damage, defense, and tool power than most other woods.
Shadewood cannot spread the Crimson.
Shadewood (except for texture) is exactly the same as Ebonwood.

Notes
- Palm trees that have grown on Crimsand will give Shadewood instead of Palm Wood, as there is no Crimson variant of Palm Wood.

Tips
- A good tactic for procuring Shadewood early on is to use the axe as a weapon as well when using it as a tool. While chopping trees, the player can face the direction of any approaching threats. Early-game axes have arguably impressive knockback, making it a great option for a multitasking tool to fend off enemies and get Shadewood simultaneously.
Trivia
- Placed Shadewood resembles the placed texture of Rich Mahogany, rotated 90 degrees and with a different coloration.
