Bamboo is a placeable block obtained by harvesting Bamboo stalks, which generate naturally in the Jungle biome, with any pickaxe or drill. It can also be found in Jungle and Bramble Crates. Bamboo can be used to craft themed furniture, blocks, and walls.
Bamboo stalks grow above surface on Jungle grass submerged in shallow (more than 1 and no more than 5 tiles deep[1]) water or Shimmer. Like most plants, they will not grow in front of a wall (including Glass Walls and fences). Unlike most other plants, however, Bamboo stalks grow over time and tend to grow in very long intervals.

Notes
Three Bamboo stalks on Jungle grass in shallow water.
- Bamboo can be grown outside the Jungle biome by planting Jungle grass under an appropriate amount of water or Shimmer.
- Unlike most other plants, Bamboo stalks will not inherit paints or coatings from the tiles they are growing on.
Trivia
- According to Leinfors, Bamboo was originally planned to be sold by the Traveling Merchant and would not grow naturally.[2]
