The Wooden Arrow is a pre-Hardmode arrow. It can be used as ammunition for all types of bows and can be crafted into more powerful arrows.

Wooden Arrows can be crafted, found in Pots and Chests, dropped by Pincushion Zombies, and purchased from the Merchant for 5 CC each. They can also be purchased from the Skeleton Merchant during moon phases 3, 4, 7, and 8.

When fired with certain bows, Wooden Arrows will be converted into a special projectile (e.g. the Molten Fury converting them into Flaming Arrows). Some other bows, such as the Pulse Bow, can convert any type of arrow.

Tips

• Wooden Arrows remain a cheaper alternative for bows that convert shots into special arrows, such as the Marrow and Ice Bow, as these bows gain no benefit from the special properties of more expensive ammo types. In Hardmode, Wooden Arrows can be crafted into the Endless Quiver, a superior alternative that is never consumed when fired.
• Upgrading Wooden Arrows to Flaming Arrows or Frostburn Arrows does not require a lot of resources, yet greatly increases their usefulness.

Trivia

• The darts fired from a Dart Trap appear to be Wooden Arrows.
• In the beta version of Terraria, Wooden Arrows could not be crafted. Instead, they could only be found in Pots and Chests, or purchased from the Merchant for 10 CC each.^[1][2]

  • Stack limit increased from 999 to 9999.
