The Cobalt Shield is a pre-Hardmode shield accessory that has a 1/7 (14.29%) chance of being obtained from Locked Gold Chests found in the Dungeon, as well as a 1/7 (14.29%) chance of being obtained from Golden Lock Boxes(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions). While equipped, it grants 1 defense and immunity to knockback.

Tips

• The knockback immunity is especially valuable during boss fights that spawn several enemies or projectiles, or environmental hazards such as lava or traps. It is also helpful for traversing terrain, whether farming for Fallen Stars or going through The Corruption.
• The Cobalt Shield can synergize with the Brand of the Inferno(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) to block attacks, granting the Striking Moment buff.

Trivia

• Despite having the word cobalt in its name and appearing similar to other Cobalt items, it is not crafted from Cobalt Bars.
