Water Walking Boots are an accessory that allows a player to walk on water, honey, and shimmer. The player moves across these liquids at normal speed without sinking. They do not allow walking on lava. When the player is on a liquid, they may press ▼ Down to fall through the liquid, similar to a platform. Water Walking Boots have a 1/10 (10%) chance of being obtained from Water Chests, Ocean Crates, and Seaside Crates.

Notes

  • Walking on a liquid requires a stable surface, indicated by the bright line on the surface. Moving liquid cannot be walked on and the player will fall through normally.
  • Landing on the surface of a liquid with Water Walking Boots equipped will not cause fall damage.
  • If the player grapples something below them while they are standing on the surface of a liquid, they will be pulled in.
  • Riding a mount with a walking animation while having the Water Walking Boots or its upgrades equipped will transfer its abilities to the mount. For example:
  • In Celebrationmk10 worlds, the chance of finding Water Walking Boots in a Water Chest increases from 1/10 (10%) to 1/7 (14.29%).

History

  • Desktop 1.4.4: Chance of being contained in Water Chests and found in Ocean/Seaside Crates increased from 9/100 (9%) to 1/10 (10%).
  • Desktop 1.4.0.1:
    • Chance of being contained in Water Chests increased from 1/15 (6.67%) to 9/100 (9%).
    • Can now be used to directly craft the Lava Waders.
