The Molten Charm is a pre-Hardmode immunity accessory crafted from a Lava Charm and an Obsidian Skull, combining the effects of both items.

When the Molten Charm is equipped and the player comes into contact with lava, a 7-second countdown begins, signified by a lava meter that displays over the player's head. It operates similarly to the Breath meter, but displays flame icons instead of bubbles. Lava immunity time is recharged gradually by exiting lava, the same way breathing time is recharged by exiting water (albeit much more slowly).

The Molten Charm also grants immunity to the burning damage normally inflicted by contact with Meteorite, Hellstone, and Hellstone Brick. It does not grant immunity to other fire-based damage.

This accessory can be combined with the Water Walking Boots or the Obsidian Water Walking Boots, which are used in crafting the Lava Waders.

Notes

• This accessory's effects are identical to that of the Magma Skull.
• The Lava Charm, Magma Skull, Molten Skull Rose, Lava Waders, and Terraspark Boots all stack with the Molten Charm to increase lava immunity by 7 seconds each. The Demonic Hellcart also gives an additional 7 seconds. Of these, only the Demonic Hellcart is not itself a Lava Charm upgrade.
  • In Classic Mode the player can equip 5 of these accessories and the Demonic Hellcart to increase lava immunity to a maximum total of 42 seconds.
  • In Expert Mode the player can equip and additional 6th accessory after consuming the Demon Heart, resulting in a maximum total of 49 seconds of lava immunity.
