The Zenith is the most powerful endgame melee weapon in the game. However, it has the most complex crafting tree requiring a total of 18 swords to craft, including Terra Blade materials. The raw materials required to craft it are displayed below.
Basic diagram
Ingredients
Copper Shortsword
Upon creating a character (as long as it isn't a Journey Mode character, in which case you will receive the
Iron Shortsword), you automatically receive the
Copper Shortsword. You should try to keep it, as Tin is not a replacement. Should you have discarded it however, a new one can be made with 5 Copper Bars (15 Copper Ore) at an Anvil.
Players with Tin worlds who have discarded the old sword will need to:
- Gather Copper Ore with the Extractinator.
- Mine Copper Ore from another world where it is naturally generated.
- Collect Copper Ore from slimes.
- Get Copper Ore and Copper Bars through fishing up crates.
- Transmute Tin Ore or Bars into Copper Ore or Bars via Shimmer Transmutation.
- Turn Tin Ore or Bars into Copper Ore or Bars via a Chlorophyte Extractinator.
Starfury
The
Starfury is a sword that creates falling star projectiles, similar to the Fallen Stars found at night. It can be found inside Chests on Floating Islands. Keep in mind, however, that not all Chests contain a Starfury, and not all islands have a Chest. If no chests have a Starfury, it is necessary to fish for Sky Crates, or Azure Crates in Hardmode.
Enchanted Sword
Background Object
Terraria's Sword in the Stone, the
Enchanted Sword is a sword that shoots Enchanted Beam projectiles and can be found in Enchanted Sword Shrines. You'll recognize one when you see a 1-block wide shaft leading to a rainbow-shaped cave at the end, with 2 pools of water on each side and a sword in the middle. Enchanted Sword Shrines are rare and not guaranteed in a world. The sword background object, when broken, has a 98% chance of dropping the Enchanted Sword, and a 2% chance of dropping a
Terragrim, which is not a replacement.
If you were unable to find a Sword Shrine, you can also obtain it by opening Golden Crates, or Titanium Crates in Hardmode. Both crates contain roughly the same loot, but the Golden Crate has a 1/30 (3.33%) chance to contain an Enchanted Sword, while the Titanium Crate has a 1/15 (6.67%) chance.
Bee Keeper
The
Bee Keeper is a sword that inflicts the Confused debuff on hit and releases friendly bees that will damage nearby enemies. It has a 1/3 (33.33%) chance of dropping from the Queen Bee.
Queen Bee can be summoned by breaking Larva inside Bee Hives, which are located in the Underground Jungle, or by using an Abeemination in the Jungle biome. See Guide:Queen Bee strategies for more information on how to defeat the Queen Bee.
Seedler
The
Seedler is a Hardmode sword that you can obtain from defeating Plantera, with a 1/7 (14.29%) chance of dropping. When used, it fires Seedler Nut projectiles that explode into Seedler Thorns upon a period of time, or when hitting an enemy.
Plantera can only be summoned by breaking Plantera's Bulbs, a naturally spawning object that can generate after all mechanical bosses are defeated. See Guide:Plantera strategies for more information on how to defeat Plantera.
The Horseman's Blade
The Horseman's Blade is a Hardmode, post-Plantera sword that has a 2.5–12.5% (6.25–12.5% on Expert Mode and higher) chance of dropping from Pumpking, an event boss that spawns during a Pumpkin Moon, depending on the current wave.[1] Upon hitting an enemy, it summons homing Flaming Jack projectiles that can pass through blocks.
The Pumpkin Moon can only be initiated by using a Pumpkin Moon Medallion. See Guide:Pumpkin Moon strategies for more information on how to survive a Pumpkin Moon and defeat Pumpking.
Influx Waver
The
Influx Waver is a Hardmode, post-Golem sword that has a 1/6 (16.67%) chance of dropping from Martian Saucer, an event boss that spawns during Martian Madness. When used, it fires a sword beam projectile that after hitting an enemy, can return up to two times to attack the same enemy or other nearby enemies.
The Martian Madness event is initiated when a Martian Probe detects a player and is allowed to escape. See Guide:Martian Madness strategies for more information on how to survive Martian Madness and defeat the Martian Saucer.
Star Wrath
The
Star Wrath is a Hardmode sword that has a 2/9 (22.22%) chance of dropping from the Moon Lord. When swung, three falling star projectiles shoot out from above towards the cursor's location. The projectiles produce light and can pierce.
The Moon Lord is summoned after defeating all four Celestial Pillars during the Lunar Events, or by using a Celestial Sigil. See Guide:Lunar Events strategies for more information on how to complete the Lunar Events, and Guide:Moon Lord strategies for more information on how to defeat the Moon Lord.
Meowmere
The
Meowmere is a Hardmode sword that has a 2/9 (22.22%) chance of dropping from the Moon Lord. It spawns a cat head projectile with a rainbow trail when swung, which is affected by gravity, pierces multiple enemies, and ricochets four times, dissipating on the fifth hit.
It should be noted that although the Meowmere has a higher listed base damage than the Zenith, the Zenith has a much higher DPS overall.
Terra Blade
The
Terra Blade is a Hardmode sword that is crafted from various different swords that you can obtain throughout the game. It is made by combining the
True Excalibur (crafted by combining the Excalibur with 24 Chlorophyte Bars (120 Chlorophyte Ore)), the
True Night's Edge (crafted by combining the Night's Edge with 20 Souls of Fright, 20 Souls of Might and 20 Souls of Sight) and a Broken Hero Sword, a material dropped by Mothron from the Solar Eclipse event, all at a Hardmode Anvil.
The Excalibur is made using Hallowed Bars obtained from defeating mechanical bosses, while the Night's Edge is made by combining the following swords at an Altar: Blade of Grass, Muramasa, Volcano, and either the Light's Bane or the Blood Butcherer.
See Guide:Crafting a Terra Blade for more info on how to craft a Terra Blade.
Combining The Swords
Once all the necessary swords are obtained, you can craft a Zenith at a Hardmode Anvil.
