Character styles
For the character hair styles, see Hairstyles.
Styles are chosen during character creation and determine the character's base clothing style, which is displayed when no armor or vanity items are equipped, or when the player is wearing Familiar clothes. This style of a character can be changed at any time at a dresser, and a character's gender can be changed at any time with the Gender Change Potion.

Notes
The interface shown when right clicking on a Dresser. The style can be changed by clicking on the character image.
- Styles are purely cosmetic and do not affect gameplay in any form outside of visually. For example, a female character with style 1 will not have any less defense than another statistically identical female character with style 4, despite having exposed legs, nor will females with style 1 equipped be hindered by being in a Snow biome. NPCs will also not give different dialogue to players depending on their character style. However, NPCs will have varying dialogue between female and male characters, for example, the Stylist.
- Familiar outfit pieces bought by a player in a specific style will not preserve said style when equipped on another player who uses a different style; a Familiar Shirt bought by a player with style 2 will not appear as a style 2 shirt if equipped on a player with style 1. In short, the Familiar outfit will only ever show the style of its current wearer.
- Some animations seem to "detach" an arm from the character as to angle it in a usually impossible way. For example, firing a ranged weapon will change the entire character sprite to rotate the arm, while playing an instrument or petting a town pet will rotate the arm as its own object.
