Legacy:NPCs

Old-gen console versionNintendo 3DS version
This is the Legacy page whose information relates to the article NPCs.
It applies only to the Old-gen console and 3DS versions of Terraria, detailing their differences from modern versions.

On the Old-gen console version Old-gen console version and Nintendo 3DSNintendo 3DS version version, if the NPC has an inventory or population requirement for their initial spawn (e.g. the 50 SC requirement for the Merchant), that has to be met again for the respawn. However, a rescued NPC will stay rescued, and respawn without needing to be found again.

Town pets, Stat boosts, NPC Happiness, Emotes, and Shimmered forms are not present in these versions.

The defense of NPCs is 15. They also cannot defend themselves against enemies.

All NPCs(Old-gen console and 3DS versions) will be able to teleport to their house if they are standing on Dungeon Bricks, regardless of time.

There are a total of (Old-gen console version) 21 / Nintendo 3DS version 19 town NPCs, (Old-gen console and 3DS versions) 6 of whom normally appear in Hardmode. An additional (Old-gen console version) 2 / Nintendo 3DS version 1 NPC(s) can be encountered that do not move into houses.
