Old-gen console version Nintendo 3DS version
This is the Legacy page whose information relates to the article Drills.
It applies only to the Old-gen console and 3DS versions of Terraria, detailing their differences from modern versions.

On the Old-gen console version Old-gen console version and Nintendo 3DSNintendo 3DS version version, drills are functionally identical to their pickaxe counterpart, apart from appearance, sound, and possible modifiers. The Orichalcum Drill is the exception from this rule, being significantly slower than the Orichalcum Pickaxe. The early Hardmode ore drills inflict no knockback on these versions and thus cannot obtain modifiers that affect knockback.

On the Nintendo 3DSNintendo 3DS version version, the Drax is the only drill that is already available pre-Hardmode, being found in Shadow Chests.
