Statistics

On the Old-gen console version Old-gen console version and Nintendo 3DSNintendo 3DS version version, Platinum Coins have a maximum stack size of 999.

On these versions, Coins inside the player's banks cannot be used to purchase items.

Trivia

  • Old-gen console versionNintendo 3DS version Coins have a selling price equal to the amount in their stack, but cannot be sold. Interestingly, this means that they have an internal buy value equal to 5× what they are worth (meaning buying 1 Gold Coin would cost 5 GC).Verify
    • Old-gen console version Coins can be sold on the Wii U Wii U and Xbox 360 Xbox editions. Doing so will do nothing, however.
  • Placing all 1,000,000 Copper Coins from a single Platinum Coin would take up 4.9% of the area in a Large world, 8.6% of a Medium world, 19.8% of a Old-gen console version Small / Nintendo 3DS version Expanded world, and 63.4% of a Nintendo 3DS version Normal world.
