On the Old-gen console version Old-gen console version and Nintendo 3DSNintendo 3DS version version, the Coin Gun has a significantly lower drop chance at 1/8000 (0.0125%) from pirates (except Parrots) and 1/2000 (0.05%) from the Pirate Captain.

The Coin Gun cannot receive any modifiers that increase damage, so the modifier that boosts its DPS the most on these versions is Agile (+12% speed[a], +3% critical strike chance). Zealous (+5% critical strike chance) serves as the most ammo-efficient option, dealing the highest amount of damage per coin fired.

  • Coins are consumed from the inventory first on Old-gen console version Old-gen console and 3DSNintendo 3DS version (from top left to bottom right), then the designated coin slots.

  1. ↑ By default, Agile increases speed by 10%. However, like with all modifiers, the effective increase differs from weapon to weapon due to rounding. For the Coin Gun specifically, Agile increases speed by an effective 12%.
